A retired Gumla sub-inspector, Jagarnath Oraon, has organized mass weddings for 500 couples since 2021, alleviating financial burdens for poor tribal families. His initiative, supported by the community and his social outfit Nav Yuvak Sangh, provides social recognition and dignified lives for couples, including those in live-in relationships.
