Maithili Thakur, singer and BJP candidate from Bihar’s Alinagar constituency, is leading early election counts against RJD’s Binod Mishra. Born in Benipatti, Madhubani, she trained in Maithili folk and Hindustani classical music from a young age. Alongside her schooling, she pursued professional music competitions and performances nationally and internationally. With a B.A. degree from the University of Delhi, Thakur combines academic grounding with cultural expertise, now entering politics to contest in the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections.
