Inside ‘Gaadi Ghar’: This unique Uttarakhand earth home has an abandoned SUV entrance, a ‘living’ grass roof and zero cement

An abandoned SUV serves as the unique entrance to Gaadi Ghar, an earth house in Uttarakhand. This sustainable dwelling was constructed using only natural and recycled materials, challenging conventional building methods. Thick earthen walls provide passive cooling and heating, regulating the home’s internal temperature naturally. Architect Shagun Singh founded Geeli Mitti to promote such eco-friendly construction techniques across India.
