Supreme Court extends Bengaluru civic poll deadline to December 31

Bengaluru’s civic elections are delayed until December 2026. The Supreme Court granted this extension after the state cited electoral roll revisions. This is the second postponement granted by the apex court this year. Bengaluru will continue without elected representatives in its urban local bodies. The elections are for five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
