Flock Safety CEO Garrett Langley says his surveillance company has become an easy villain as Americans vandalise its cameras and cities cancel contracts. Florida has ordered automated licence plate readers off state highways within 30 days, Texas has pulled funding, and 93 local governments dropped Flock in August alone. Flock has cut data retention to seven days and made abuse detection mandatory, but the ACLU and EFF remain unconvinced.
