Meet Terry Fox: He lost his leg to bone cancer at 18, then ran 5,373 km across Canada with an artificial leg to raise millions for cancer research before the disease returned

Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope on April 12, 1980, running across Canada for cancer awareness. He trained for months, covering over 5,000 kilometres before starting his journey. Fox ran daily through various weather conditions, reaching communities to discuss cancer research. Unfortunately, on September 1, 1980, he had to stop running as his cancer spread to his lungs.
