The Oriental Research Institute in Mysuru is embarking on a monumental project to digitise approximately 26 lakh palm leaf manuscripts. Initiated in 2022, this initiative has already digitised over 90% of the collection, allowing scholars to study these delicate originals without physical contact. Local women are key players in this effort, receiving training to assist in manuscript conservation.
