Press Council of India reconstituted; 13 members nominated

The government has reconstituted the Press Council of India, nominating 13 journalists from various categories. Six editors and seven working journalists have been included in the new composition. The reconstitution was carried out under the Press Council Act of 1978. Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai will continue to head the council. The PCI aims to preserve press freedom and improve media standards throughout the country.
