Ashmita Bakshi makes her commercial theatre debut with the mythological dance drama Shiv Shakti: Ek Divya Pranay Katha, playing Shakti, Sati and Parvati opposite Sandip Soparrkar. She discusses how an unexpected connection led to the role, the rigorous Bharatanatyam and Kathak training required for the production, and her admiration for Soparrkar’s preparation, command over his lines and versatility beyond Latin ballroom.
