A search operation is underway for eight individuals missing in the Kedartal region since October 29. Helicopters conducted aerial reconnaissance but found no signs of the missing trekkers and guide. Heavy snowfall is complicating the search efforts by the State Disaster Response Force teams. The group began their trek from Gangotri on October 27, with four porters managing to reach safety.
