An alumni group, the Cleveland Commission for Wells, has submitted a bid to purchase Wells College, aiming to restore the 156-year-old institution after its sudden closure in April 2024. The group, consisting of alumni from multiple decades, plans to reopen the college, focusing on its liberal arts education and the ecological resources of its 127-acre campus. The Commission is calling for public support to help revive the historic institution.
