A number of women are today in the management committees of resident welfare associations. Some are presidents, some manage the finance function, others manage areas like waste disposal, water management, fire safety and building maintenance. They say women are better communicators and multi taskers, and are more empathetic and compassionate, but they often face stiff resistance from male members.
