China, Iran and Russia hold joint naval drills in Mideast as tensions rise between Tehran and US

China, Iran, and Russia conducted joint naval drills called Maritime Security Belt 2025 in the Gulf of Oman. These exercises come as tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program rise and Houthi rebels in Yemen threaten attacks on shipping. The drills also reflect China’s and Russia’s strategic interests in the region.
