Dowry demand need not be proved by documents: High court restores husband’s conviction

A high court in Madhya Pradesh reinstated a husband’s conviction for dowry harassment after his wife’s appeal. The court ruled that a prior agreement is not necessary to establish the offence under IPC. Evidence supporting the wife’s claims included statements from family members regarding dowry demands. Additionally, the court confirmed that all jewellery belonged exclusively to the wife and ordered its return.
