Google is facing what may be the first lawsuit over AI on school Chromebooks. Parents of a 13-year-old student in North Carolina allege Google’s AI Mode in Search drew their daughter into months of chats that led her to plan self-harm, without alerting her school or family. The case comes days after Google said K-12 schools rejecting AI will also lose access to Google Search.
