‘I am a political victim’: Tarun Tejpal surrenders in Goa court, to serve 10 years in rape case

Tarun Tejpal surrendered before a Goa court after his conviction. The Bombay High Court overturned his prior acquittal for rape in 2013. The court criticized the lower court’s handling of evidence and victim testimony. Tejpal’s lawyer sought leniency citing his age and the case’s age. The Supreme Court had directed Tejpal to surrender within two weeks.
