The Asiatic Society in Kolkata has been designated a key cluster centre for Eastern India under the Union Culture Ministry’s Gyan Bharatam Mission. This initiative aims to preserve, digitise, and make accessible thousands of ancient manuscripts, with an initial Rs40 lakh allocation for conservation and cataloguing.
