Researchers at NIT Rourkela have identified piperlongumine, a compound in long pepper, as a promising, cost-effective treatment for colon cancer. Laboratory tests show it selectively destroys cancer cells by inducing oxidative stress, leaving healthy cells unharmed. This discovery offers an affordable therapeutic option, particularly for low and middle-income countries.
