Maruti profit declines 27% despite record quarterly sales

Maruti Suzuki has reported a considerable dip in quarterly profits, down 27% year-on-year to Rs 2,415 crore, despite achieving record vehicle sales between July and September. The company’s total expenditure surged by nearly 30%, which exceeded the 26% increase in net sales, leading to a 17% decrease in operating profit due to rising production costs and investment losses. However, demand for small cars and utility vehicles continues to be robust.
