The Unique Identification Authority of India has waived all charges for mandatory biometric updates for children’s Aadhaar cards. Effective October 1 for one year, this pro-people measure benefits approximately six crore children. Previously, updates outside specific age windows incurred a Rs 125 fee. Now, all first and second mandatory biometric updates for children aged 5-17 are completely free.
