Odisha government school textbooks for Classes 1 to 8 were found to contain 1,741 errors after Rs 175 crore was spent on printing and publication. The mistakes range from spelling and grammatical errors to factual inaccuracies. An inquiry also flagged weaknesses in the review process, prompting disciplinary action and plans for stricter scrutiny of revised editions.
