Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa narrowly escaped an attack in Cañar province where his motorcade was pelted with rocks by a crowd of 500. Officials reported signs of bullet damage on his vehicle, with five arrests made. The Indigenous federation CONAIE, protesting subsidy cuts, alleged orchestrated violence and arbitrary detentions against their members during the incident.
