The Varanasi Division of the North Eastern Railway is making significant strides in energy conservation. By April 2025, they installed 2253 kW of rooftop solar panels, generating 394,000 units of solar energy, a 2.59% increase from 2024. This initiative has resulted in substantial savings of approximately Rs. 2,130,561 and promotes the use of non-conventional energy sources across various railway facilities.
