Rs 440 crore TMC account freeze: Calcutta high court allows withdrawals for routine expenses, puts every cheque under judicial watch

The Calcutta High Court appointed a retired judge to oversee Trinamool Congress party expenses. Funds from three frozen bank accounts can be accessed for routine party needs. A special officer will supervise all withdrawals and submit expenditure reports to the court. The court also directed banks to preserve electronic records and cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The matter will next be heard on September 21 for a progress report.
