Six IIT Bombay faculty members elected INSA Fellows: From AI and climate science to bacteria and Earth’s changing crust

Six IIT Bombay faculty members have been elected Fellows of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), effective January 1, 2027, recognising their sustained contributions across diverse scientific fields. Anirban Banerjee researches bacterial infections and immunity, Supratik Chakraborty works on computer-system verification, Subimal Ghosh studies climate challenges, Debabrata Maiti advances sustainable chemistry, Suparna Mukherji focuses on water pollution and treatment, and Malay Mukul investigates tectonics and Earth’s changing landscapes.
