Vietnam parliament approves $67 billion high-speed railway project

Vietnam has approved a $67 billion high-speed railway project from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to cut travel time from 30 hours to five. Slated to start in 2027 and complete by 2035, the 1,500-kilometre line will pass through 20 cities and provinces, enhancing regional connectivity and boosting GDP growth.
