A 59-year-old housekeeping worker tragically died after falling into an uncovered pit. The incident occurred near Anna Nagar Tower Metro station on Sunday night. She had informed her daughter she was going to a nearby church before the accident. Passers-by alerted police due to suspected electrical hazards at the site. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and corporation officials have since covered the pit.
