After paying Rs 29,500 for a family cruise, a Kerala SBI manager travelled from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi, only to find the trip cancelled without notice; consumer commission orders Rs 54,500 payout plus interest

A family’s dream cruise was abruptly canceled without warning, leaving them in distress. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Kerala found both the holiday company and cruise operator at fault. Despite repeated attempts to secure a refund after the cancellation, the complainant was denied compensation. The commission mandated a refund along with additional compensation for the trouble caused, allowing one month for compliance before penalties escalate.
