California funds 15 projects with $44 million to protect forests, desert and Tribal land

California has approved $43.868 million for 15 conservation projects across 11 counties. The funding will help protect 14,177 acres of forest and salmon habitat, conserve 1,093 Mojave Desert acres, restore streams and meadows, and acquire an 80-acre Tribal property for ecological restoration and training.
