Ramsharan Nautiyal recently resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party, citing a lack of respect as a reason. He joined the Congress party after having left it in 2014, marking his political return. Nautiyal contested the 2022 Assembly elections from Chakrata but lost to Congress leader Pritam Singh. His resignation from BJP led to speculation about his political future and subsequent return to Congress.
