Delhi high court on Monday deferred the bail pleas of activists Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam in the UAPA case linked to the alleged larger conspiracy behind the February 2020 northeast Delhi riots to September 30. The hearing was adjourned after Delhi Police sought more time, citing the unavailability of ASG SV Raju. The court also deferred former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain’s bail plea to November.
