Basavaraj Horatti, the Chairman of Karnataka’s Legislative Council, announced his resignation on Friday, citing undue pressure from the Congress government. According to Horatti, Congress leaders warned him of a no-confidence motion unless he resigned. After joining the BJP in 2022, he had discussions with Congress figures prior to stepping down, a meeting acknowledged by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
