Former NFL running back Wendell Smallwood Jr. could be released early from prison to spend time with his 8-year-old daughter, Mila, who is battling cancer and reportedly has only days or weeks to live. A New Jersey judge withdrew Smallwood’s guilty plea in a gun case on Aug. 7. His attorney stressed that the decision is about giving father and daughter a chance to be together during her final days.
