After a troubled decade, Amritsar’s Bus Rapid Transit System, which cost Rs 600 crore to establish, is set for decommissioning. The transit corridors have proven inconvenient for passengers and failed to generate a substantial ridership. Attempts to revive the service, such as offering free travel, were insufficient to curb the mounting monthly losses.
