Indian Railways aims for a diversified energy strategy focused on nuclear, solar, hydropower, wind, and thermal sources to meet its net zero 2030 initiative. By 2025-26, 95% of trains will operate on electricity, significantly reducing carbon emissions and diesel expenditure.
