Hurricane Simon is quickly intensifying off the Pacific coast of Mexico and is expected to reach category 4 status. A hurricane warning is currently in place from Punta San Telmo to Punta Mita. Heavy rainfall, floods, and mudslides are possible in several Mexican states due to the storm’s approach. Private forecaster AccuWeather estimates that landfall may occur by early Sunday.
