Insurance claim denied over short circuit, consumer commission orders insurer to pay Rs 3.53 lakh

Minda Industries approached the consumer commission after its insurance claim was repudiated. The insurer denied coverage for damage caused by a short circuit. The state commission found a portion of the loss was covered by the policy. It directed New India Assurance to pay Rs 3.53 lakh for fire damage. This decision modified an earlier award of Rs 15.07 lakh.
