A consumer commission ordered Cigna TTK Health Insurance to pay fifty lakh rupees. The insurer wrongly rejected a critical illness claim for Mange Ram’s heart condition. His wife Suman pursued the claim after his death from heart disease. The commission found the insurer failed to prove fraud or lack of illness. Cigna TTK must also pay interest and litigation costs for service deficiency.
