Letters, doodles, everyday moments offer rare glimpse into Rabindranath Tagore’s intimate world

An exhibition titled ‘Rabindranath Tagore and Mungpoo’ is displaying personal letters and artworks from Rabindranath Tagore. The items were preserved by Maitreyi Devi’s family for three generations and have not been publicly exhibited before. Notably, the collection includes letters that express Tagore’s thoughts and experiences during his latter years. The exhibition also highlights the bond between Tagore and Maitreyi, which flourished during his visits to Mungpoo.
