LIV Golf collapses into bankruptcy: What now for its biggest stars?

LIV Golf has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after Saudi Arabia’s PIF withdrew its multibillion-dollar backing, revealing up to $1bn in liabilities. More than $45m is owed to 14 current and former players, led by Jon Rahm. LIV plans to restructure with BC Partners and launch a smaller, player-owned league in 2027, but its biggest stars face uncertain futures.
