Maharashtra tightens out-of-taluka property paperwork rules

The state government has introduced mandatory scrutiny for property documents registered outside their talukas. Officials now have two days to examine these documents for potential irregularities. This new requirement is part of the state’s effort to enhance its ‘one district one registration’ scheme. Additionally, agreements and sale deeds under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act are exempt from this scrutiny.
