Captain Smit Machchhar, an Indian national and experienced flydubai Boeing 737 captain, was reportedly stabbed by his co-pilot during flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The aircraft rapidly descended more than 14,000 feet before being diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Despite his injuries, Machchhar reportedly helped open the cockpit door, enabling passengers, crew and two off-duty pilots to overpower the attacker. Machchhar underwent surgery and was reported stable, while authorities investigate the incident and its motive.
