Muthusamy, a fourth-generation Tamilian, claimed the Player of the Series award in the two-match Test series against Pakistan. The 31-year-old all-rounder recorded career-best figures of 11/174 in the first Test, scoring 89* to help the Proteas pull off an eight-wicket triumph in the second Test. South Africa haven’t won an away Test series against India in the 21st century and Muthusamy will certainly be expected to lead the charge in pursuit of a historic triumph.
