Microsoft is pulling Mico, the animated blob that has fronted Copilot Voice since October 2025, out of the assistant. The character moves to Learn Live as a tutor, while voice conversations with Copilot continue as normal. The change rolls out in waves from August 18, alongside the retirement of Group Chat, Podcasts, Copilot Labs and consumer Deep Research. Custom Mico settings won’t carry over.
