Mrutyam Jayaram Dondapati and Malay Barik, two talented athletes from Odisha, tragically lost their lives in an accident. Dondapati was recognized as one of India’s fastest under-23 sprinters in 2025. Malay Barik specialized in the 400m sprint and contributed significantly to athletics in the state. The death of these young athletes has deeply impacted Odisha’s sporting community and their families.
