New AC developed faults soon after installation; consumer commission awards buyer Rs 48,450

A Punjab consumer commission ordered Whirlpool India to refund a faulty air conditioner. The AC repeatedly malfunctioned after installation and during its warranty period. Despite multiple repair attempts, the defect persisted, leading to the legal action. The commission found Whirlpool responsible for the inherent manufacturing defect. Whirlpool must refund the AC price and pay compensation for customer distress.
