For the first time in 28 years, there will be no Indian umpire or technical official at the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup. Former international umpires have called the development disappointing and said India needs a better system to produce world-class officials. They believe more international exposure, financial support and a structured pathway are the need of the hour.
