Rigid class I NEP age cutoff forces many kids to take ‘drop year’ in pre-primary

National Education Policy age rules are delaying Class 1 admissions for many NCR students. Children are repeating pre-primary years after schools strictly enforced the six-year entry age. New intermediate classes were created to accommodate students not yet meeting the age criteria. Parents express frustration over the rigid implementation and additional costs incurred. This policy creates inconsistencies between different cities and educational boards.
