Shipments of iron ore from U.S. ports on the Great Lakes decreased 1.2 percent from last year to 4.6 million tons in September. Shipments were below the month’s 5-year average by 11.4 percent.Year-to-date, the iron ore trade stands at 32.2 million tons, a 2.4 percent increase compared to 2025.
