The India Meteorological Department forecasts very heavy rainfall over Odisha on Thursday. Several other states including Assam, Meghalaya, and Bihar will also experience heavy rain. Thunderstorms with lightning are predicted for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and other southern regions. Widespread rainfall is expected across Uttarakhand and parts of central India through the weekend. South India will continue to see active rainfall and thunderstorms over the next few days.
